How has this unit affected your photography?
It has shown me how to control the different variables in each photograph: lighting, clothes, background, props, facial expressions, etc.
Why is this person important in your life?
Emily is my best friend - my partner in crime. We have the same interests, the same kind of humor, and our houses have the exact same layout. She supports my love of tennis, has helped me through a close family member's death, and she helps me when I struggle with my faith.
How does their personality dictate your artistic decisions?
She's a naturally light-hearted and open person, which makes photo shoots fun, but she can also be serious: like when it comes to her flute, dancing, and her faith.
ReplyDelete1. She looks very athletic, competitive, looks like she likes to play instruments, maybe does dance and comes out very natural in the pictures taken of her.
2. The photographs were taken in a tennis field so maybe the photographer or the model, since they were outside on the fields she used natural lighting. The photographs show an athletic side and more sporty vibe to them.
3. I suggest to make the background of the pictures blurry, but not blurry enough that you can tell what’s behind the model but just to give that more centered and focused effect.
The personality of the subject is shown as sporty and musically inclined. This can be seen with the way the light hits her face. On the third photo, the light coming from the back combined with the black and white add to the intensity of the photo. I think that the portraiture used here shows the story of the subject without using words. Some suggestions that I could have for these photos are the backgrounds. Not in all of the photos, but some of them have slightly distracting backgrounds. Other than that, I think that these photos are really good!
ReplyDelete1. I think that the model is a goofy person by the way she drinks her yogurt with the straw. She also looks very serious when playing her flute and by her dance poses.
ReplyDelete2. The pictures tell a story about the deep look on her face, which shows her competitiveness.
3. I think if you blurred the background or tried to zoom in to get rid of the red fence on the tennis courts. It’s a bit distracting.
After looking at your portraits, I can tell that your subject is silly, competitive, and also enjoys music. You did a good job capturing everything about your subject to help tell her personality. My only suggestion is to make your subject the more of the focus rather than the background.
ReplyDeleteThese photos do a great job of portraying that the subject is athletic and musically talented. If I had to make a suggestion it would be to try and crop out the background because it distracts from the subject in the photo. But it is very nice how in the photos the subject is either doing a interesting pose or using a prop; it makes the photos more interesting.
